Sri Anantapuram Gangamma temple is located in Lakkireddipalli Village, Annamayya District, of Andhra Pradesh State. Anatapuram Village (Telugu: అనంతపురం) is situated at a distance of 3 km to the east of Lakkireddypalli (Mandal head quarters).
Sthala puranam:
Every year Gangamma Jatara is celebrated. Where the temple is located once it was a jungle. Long back a person named Perumandlu the resident of Anantapuram village, were reported that a thorn bush was cut into piles and placed a black stone to keep it in position. The next day he went with bullock cart and some men to bring it from the hedge. But They could not lift the heap. Meanwhile a man possessed of the deity Gangamma revealed her existence and her desire to be established there and wanted to build a temple. From that day onwards Gangamma Jaatara is celebrated for three days from Magha Bahula Amavasya to Phalguna Shudha Vidhiya (Feb-March).
